The South Hamilton Hawks volleyball team made the trip south into Dallas County on Thursday night, to take on the Perry Jayettes in Heart of Iowa Conference action at Perry High School. The Hawks entered at 9-14 and 1-1 in conference play, while Perry entered at 5-12 and 1-2 in conference play.
It was the Jayettes that got off to the quick start, picking up a win in set 1 by a score of 25-22. South Hamilton would fight back and take the 2nd set into extra rallies, eventually tying the match with a 28-26 win. Perry regained control with a convincing 25-18 win in set 3, but South Hamilton answered with an equally convincing 25-16 win in set 4, sending the match into a winner-take-all 5th set. The set would go into extra rallies to up the intensity, but South Hamilton came away with the 20-18 to take the match 3-2.
South Hamilton stats were not available at the time of release, the Hawks return to action on Thursday, when they host West Marshall at South Hamilton High School in Jewell.
