The Roland-Story Norsemen volleyball team returned to action on Thursday night, as they welcomed in the Greene County Rams for Heart of Iowa Conference action at Roland-Story High School in Story City. Roland-Story entered with a record of 10-6 and 2-0 in conference play, while Greene County also entered at 10-6 and 1-1 in conference play.
Roland-Story would pounce on Greene County right away on Thursday night, as the Norsemen dominated the opening set, winning 25-11. Greene County would not go quietly however, as the Rams pushed the 2nd set into extras, but Roland-Story came out with the 28-26 win. Roland-Story would then cruise in set 3 to a 25-14 win and pick up the 3-0 sweep.
The Norsemen’s freshmen sensations would have big matches, as Brookelyn Jondle tallied a career-high 18 kills in the win, while Miley Geise tallied 23 assists and 4 aces. Junior Kam Lande would have 6 kills and 3 blocks, while Josie Ramus also tallied 3 blocks and 7 kills.
Roland-Story volleyball returns to action on Monday, when they host their home tournament at Roland-Story High School, hosting Carroll Kuemper, Hampton-Dumont-CAL, Marshalltown and South Hardin.
