The Eagle Grove Eagles volleyball team returned to action on Tuesday night, as they hosted the Cardinals of Garner-Hayfield-Ventura in Top of Iowa West action at Eagle Grove Elementary School. The Eagles entered with a record of 1-12, while the Cardinals entered with a mark of 10-7.
GHV got out to a fast start in the opening set, trailblazing to a 25-12 set 1 win. The 2nd set was much of the same, with another fast Cardinals start, en route to a second-straight 25-12 win. Eagle Grove would battle in the 3rd set, at one point leading 16-15, but GHV found a way to slam the door shut with a 25-18 win and a 3-0 sweep.
The Player of the Game for Eagle Grove was middle hitter Nadia Kaiser, who had 6 kills and 4 blocks for the Eagles. Eagle Grove returns to action next Tuesday when they take on North Union.
