The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows and Eagle Grove Eagles volleyball team renewed their annual rivalry once again on Tuesday night at Clarion-Goldfield-Dows High School in Clarion. The Cowgirls entered Tuesday with a record of 5-7, while the Eagles entered with a record of 1-11.
CGD got off to a fast start on Tuesday, jumping all over the Eagles in set 1 by a margin of 25-10. Eagle Grove would not go quietly, battling CGD throughout the 2nd set, but a late boost from the Cowgirls pulled them away late for a 25-20 win. The Eagles would then run out of steam in the 3rd set, with CGD pulling away for a 25-14 win, and sweeping Eagle Grove 3-0.
No stats were available at the time of release, CGD is back in action on Tuesday night as they take on St. Edmond in NCC play. Eagle Grove returns to action on Tuesday, when they host Garner-Hayfield-Ventura in Top of Iowa West action.
