The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows volleyball team returned to action on Thursday night, as they opened up North Central Conference play on the road at Hampton-Dumont-CAL. The Cowgirls record entering the match was 4-1, while the Bulldogs held a 3-3 record.
CGD came out of the gates fast, jumping all over the Bulldogs for a 25-13 opening set win. Hampton-Dumont-CAL would not fold as they had in years past, instead giving the Cowgirls a reverse of the first set, dominating CGD for a 25-13 set 2 win. The two sides the duked it out back-and-forth in the 3rd set, with CGD squeaking by with a 25-22 win, before the Cowgirls slammed the door shut on HD-CAL with a 25-21 set 4 win, to take the match 3-1.
Clarion-Goldfield-Dows returns to action next Tuesday, when they travel to Humboldt to take on the Wildcats in North Central Conference action.
