The Eagle Grove Eagles volleyball team opened their 2023 season on the road on Tuesday night, as they took on a non-conference foe in the Southeast Valley Jaguars at Southeast Valley High School in Gowrie.
Set 1 started off in favor of the Eagles, who led 5-1 in the early going, but Southeast Valley would storm back with a vengeance, taking set 1 by a score of 25-9. Set 2 would continue the dominant nature from the Jaguars, never relinquishing the lead in the frame to win 25-14, before taking the final set by a score of 25-12.
Addy Jeske led Eagle Grove with 2 kills and 2 aces, while Southeast Valley got 9 kills from Addi Hindt, as well as 14 assists and 8 kills from Ellie Nolte.
Eagle Grove returns to action on Thursday night, when they travel to Forest City to take on the 13th-ranked Indians in Top of Iowa West action.
