The Webster City Lynx softball team returned to action on Monday night, as they took on the Jaguars of Southeast Valley in the Lynx’s regular season finale in Harcourt. Webster City entered with a 16-15 mark, while Southeast Valley entered at 14-9.
Webster City would hop on the board first with a run in the 1st inning, before adding 2 more runs to take a 3-0 lead. The Lynx would slowly build their lead in the later innings adding a run in each the 5th through 7th innings, coming away with a 6-0 victory.
Bonnie Nohrenberg would have the top run-producing day, going 1-for-4 with a single and 2 RBI, while Chloe Anderson went 2-for-2 with 2 singles and 2 runs scored. Delainey Bargfrede would only strike out 3 batters in the complete game shutout, but notched her 500th career strikeout in the process.
Webster City opens Class 4A Regional action on Thursday, when they travel to Mason City to take on the Riverhawks.
