
The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows baseball team returned to action on Saturday night, as they took on the Jaguars of Southeast Valley in Class 2A, District 2 quarterfinal action at Garner-Hayfield-Ventura High School in Garner. CGD entered with a mark of 8-21, while Southeast Valley entered at 5-16.
Southeast Valley would strike first with a run in the top of the 1st to lead 1-0, but CGD would answer with 4 runs in the bottom of the frame to take a 4-1 lead. It wouldn’t be long before the Cowboys built on their lead, adding 4 more runs in the 3rd to take an 8-1 lead, before CGD plated 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th to end the game with an 11-1 victory.
Clarion-Goldfield-Dows returns to action on Wednesday night, as they travel to Granger to take on the Woodward-Granger Hawks in their Class 2A, District 2 semifinal.
