Roland-Story baseball takes down Lenox on senior night

The Roland-Story Norsemen baseball team returned to action on Wednesday night, as they hosted the Lenox Tigers at Norsemen Field in Story City for a non-conference, senior night matchup. Roland-Story entered the contest with a record of 15-12.

The Norsemen would waste little time in getting on the board, thanks to a Brett Schmitz sacrifice fly that scored William Zamzow to give Roland-Story an initial 1-0 lead. Lenox would then tie the game in the top of the 4th, with a Gabe Funk RBI single knot the score at 1-1. Roland-Story would then take the lead back in the bottom of the 5th with an Aiden Frey RBI single that scored Ben Greenfield, to take a 2-1 lead. From there, Greenfield would lock things down on the mound for the 2-1 win. Greenfield would pitch the complete game, allowing 1 run off 7 hits, while striking out 6.

Roland-Story baseball returns to action on Thursday night, when they take on South Hardin in Eldora.
