There will be a meeting for the Webster City Community School Board on Monday evening,June 19 at 6:00 at the school office at 820 Des Moines Street. The board will consider a review of the elementary school placement proess. Other issues facing the board will be a letter from the state auditor on their findings regarding WC 2 DC as presented. WC 2 DC is the annual trip to Washington,D. C. by sixth grade students of the Webster City Middle School. There will be approval of the Compass PD agreement for profession development purposes for the 2023-24 school year. The school board will look at a disposal of textbooks,approve the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services mentoring program second amendment to contract, review the Iowa State University field experience agreement,approve a field experience agreeement with Iowa State University,and an agreement with Des Moines Area Community College. Other matters include the approval of a 28E agreement with Iowa Central Community College and approve a proposal with Johnson Controls.
In personnel matters, the Webster City Community School Board will accept resignations coming from head varsity girls track coach Clint Howard, junior varsity volleyball coach Taylor Nokes, Robert Schauer as a food service employee, MaKayla Cobbs as a paraeducator, Jayde Bertran as paraeducator and Adalie Schwandt as a paradeductor. There will be recomendations for hiring including Jenna Lewis, 3rd Grade; Alex McCready, HS Science; Jess Howard, HS Student
Council Advisor; Rusty Clabaugh, HS Night Custodian; Libby Anderson, Head 7th Grade Boys Track
Coach; Joylyn Cobb, Head 7th Grade Volleyball Coach; and Dane Barner, Head 8th Grade Boys Track Coach.
Monday’s Webster City school board meeting will be the last one for Dr. Mandy Ross as a school superintendent. Ross will retire officially on June 30 after serving the past 4 years. Matt Berninghaus from the Center Point Urbana school will be Webster City’s new school superintendent on July 1,2023.
