The Roland-Story Norsemen baseball and softball teams made the trip south into Dallas County on Wednesday night, as they took on the Perry Bluejays in Heart of Iowa Conference action at Perry High School. The Norsemen baseball team entered with a record of 7-10, while Norsemen softball team entered with a record of 8-8.
Roland-Story baseball would pick up a 7-3 win over the Bluejays on Thursday night. Junior Brett Schmitz led the way, going 1-for-2 with a 2-run RBI single. William Zamzow, Jake Knoll and Sam Knoll all recorded RBI as well, senior pitcher Dillon Lettow pitched 6.2 innings, allowing 3 runs (1 earned) on 2 hits and struck out 7.
Norsemen softball would fall by a final of 7-4 on Wednesday night as they dropped to 8-9 on the season. At the time of release, no statistics were posted on Bound.
Roland-Story baseball returns to action on Thursday night, when they host Greene County in a varsity doubleheader at Norsemen Field. Roland-Story softball returns to action on Friday, when they host their annual Kiwanis Tournament and will face Iowa Falls-Alden and North Polk.
