The Eagle Grove Eagles baseball and softball teams both made the trip north into Winnebago County on Monday night, as they took on the Forest City Indians in Top of Iowa West Conference action. Both Eagle Grove baseball and softball entered with identical records of 9-6.
As similar as the Eagles record were coming into Monday, both squads would fall in similar fashions as well. Eagle Grove baseball trailed 4-1 before storming back in the late innings to tie the game at 4-4, but a Ty Dillavou RBI single brought in the winning run in the bottom of the 8th, as the Indians walked it off 5-4.
In softball, Eagle Grove held leads of 9-3 and 11-5 at one point, but Forest City would storm back in the 6th inning with 6 runs to tie the game at 11-11, before the Indians walked it off in the bottom of the 8th to win 12-11.
Eagle Grove baseball and softball returns to action on Tuesday night, when they host Southeast Valley at Greenwood Park.
