The Roland-Story Norsemen baseball team returned to action on Wednesday night, as they made the trip to Marshall County to take on the West Marshall Trojans in Heart of Iowa Conference doubleheader at Schilling Field in State Center.
The Norsemen would fall in game one to the Trojans by a final of 9-1. 8th-grader Aiden Frey was the only Norsemen to tally an RBI on an RBI double. West Marshall would put up 4 runs in the first inning to take their initial lead and would never look back after that.
Roland-Story would fall to the Trojans in game two by a final of 11-1. Brett Schmitz would tally the only RBI for the Norsemen, while pitching 4 innings, allowing 10 runs (4 earned) on 5 hits and striking out 5. West Marshall would get 2 RBI each from AJ Dee and Beckham Desotel in the win.
Roland-Story baseball returns to action on Thursday night, when they travel to the Des Moines metro to take on perennial 4A power Johnston at Johnston Middle School.
