The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows baseball and softball teams returned to action on Wednesday night, as they made the short trip west on Highway 3 into Humboldt County to take on the Humboldt Wildcats in North Central Conference play. CGD baseball entered with a record of 2-11, while CGD softball entered with a record of 2-7.
Humboldt would jump on Cowboys on the baseball diamond early, scoring 9 runs in the first 2 innings before cruising to a 12-0 victory in just 5 innings. Trever Beach and Evan Hatcher would tally 3 RBI each, while Isaiah Busick added 2 RBI of his own in the win.
On the softball diamond, it was much of the same as Humboldt scored all 12 of their runs in the first 2 innings before cruising to a 12-0 win in just 5 innings as well. Elsie Hubbell, Mia Schluter and Reagan Lee all tallied 2 RBI each in the win for the Wildcats. No stats for CGD were posted for softball or baseball at the time of release.
