The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows baseball and softball teams made the trip to northeastern Wright County on Tuesday night, to take on county rivals Belmond-Klemme in non-conference action in Belmond. CGD baseball entered at 2-10, while CGD softball entered at 2-6.
CGD softball would fall to Belmond-Klemme by a final of 12-4, Abby Dorn had 2 RBI on the night, while Indy Johnson and Mady Hennigar each contributed RBI as well. Nyla Wibholm would pitch all 6 innings, allowing 12 runs on 11 hits, striking out 3 and walking 8. Emily Dougherty led the way for the Broncos with 4 RBI off 2 hits, while Allison Barrus had 3 RBI of 3 hits.
CGD baseball would fall to Belmond-Klemme by a final score of 16-10 on Tuesday night, as of article release, no stats were entered on Bound. CGD returns to action on Wednesday night, when they travel to Humboldt to take on the Wildcats.
