The annual Cyclone Tailgate Tour made a pit stop at Briggs Woods Conference Center in Webster City on Wednesday, as many Hamilton County Cyclone fans came to show their support. Coaches on the tour included football coach Matt Campbell, men’s basketball coach TJ Otzelberger, women’s basketball coach Bill Fennelly, wrestling coach Kevin Dresser, volleyball coach Christy Johnson-Lynch, as well as athletic director Jamie Pollard.
Matt Campbell spoke about what the support from those in Hamilton County means to the program.
“It means the world to me because I know how strong this area is to our program,” Campbell said. “Whether it’s us coming up here and recruiting the high school’s around here or them coming down and supporting us on Saturday, we’re so grateful for their constant support.”
Iowa State athletic director Jamie Pollard shared a similar sentiment as well as admiration for their venue in Webster City.
“There’s a lot of great Cyclones up here, especially farmers that we don’t get to see,” Pollard said. “It’s our first time coming here to this new place, beautiful place right on the golf course, wish I had brought my golf clubs!”
The event was full of Q&A with the Cyclone coaches as well as prizes drawn for and given by MC and Voice of the Cyclones John Walters.
