Webster City, Clarion-Goldfield-Dows girls compete in NCC Golf Tournament

The Webster City Lynx and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows girls golf teams made the trip north on I-35 on Monday morning, to compete in the annual North Central Conference tournament at Mason City Country Club in Mason City. The Lynx and Cowgirls were joined by the hosts Clear Lake, as well as Algona, Hampton-Dumont-CAL, Humboldt, Iowa Falls-Alden and St. Edmond.

Webster City would place 5th as a team, finishing with a score of 437. Carly Appel was the top golfer on the day for the Lynx, shooting a 99 (+27), finishing tied for 11th. Claire Bailey would shoot a 110 (+38) and place in a tie for 24th, Alley Odland shot a 112 (+40) and place 26th, and Ava Peterson shot a 116 (+44), placing in a tie for 27th to round out the varsity scoring for the Lynx.

Clarion-Goldfield-Dows would place 7th, shooting a 465 as a team. Sawyer Morrical was the Cowgirls top golfer, shooting a 95 (+23) to tie for 6th. Sydney Friesleben and Aysa Lyons would tie for 31st, each shooting a 121 (+49), while Claire Kirstein placed 38th, shooting a 128 (+56).

Clear Lake was the team champion, dominating the field with a score of 334.
