The Webster City Lynx girls soccer team returned to action on Friday night, as they hosted the Broncos of Wright County in North Central Conference action at Webster City High School. The Lynx entered at 2-9, while the Broncos entered at 2-11.
A defensive-laden first half was the story as the Lynx did finally manage to scrape a goal across in the first frame, and entered halftime with a 1-0 lead. The 2nd half saw the flood gates open as Webster City put up a 4-spot in the 2nd half, including two goals from freshman Janey Putney, to give Webster City the 5-1 win.
In addition to Putney’s 2 goals, sophomores Olivia Gallentine and Mia Hansen contributed goals, as well as senior Abby Gallentine. Webster City returns to action on Monday night, as they host Hampton-Dumont-CAL at Webster City High School.
