The Webster City Lynx golf teams returned to action on Tuesday night, as they took on Humboldt and St. Edmond in a North Central Conference triangular. The girls meet took place at Humboldt Country Club in Humboldt, and the boys meet took place at the Webster City Links in Webster City.
The girls meet saw Webster City place 2nd with a team score of 224, Humboldt was the winner with a score of 213. The top Lynx golfer was senior Alley Odland, who shot a 53 (+17) on a windy day in Humboldt. Kennedy Hailing would shoot a 54 (+18), while Carly Appel and Claire Bailey would round out the varsity scoring by each shooting a 59.
The Webster City boys would also place 2nd to Humboldt, as the Lynx team score sat at 181, while Humboldt would shoot a 173. Braden Doering was the individual champion, shooting a 38 (+2), while Luke Firsching was runner-up in the Lynx’s lineup, shooting a 43 (+7). Trevyn Lyons and Brandon Lahr would round out the varsity lineup, with each golfer shooting a 50 (+14).
Webster City boys return to action on Thursday, when they host their home golf tournament at Briggs Woods, while the girls return to action on Monday, May 8th for the NCC golf tournament at Mason City.
