The South Hamilton Hawks and Roland-Story Norsemen boys golf teams made the trip east on Tuesday afternoon, to compete in the annual Heart of Iowa Conference Meet at Lincoln Valley Golf Course in State Center. The Hawks and Norsemen were joined by the host West Marshall Trojans, as well as Greene County, Nevada, Perry, PCM and Saydel.
South Hamilton would place 5th with a team score of 383, with their best score coming from sophomore Landon Sogard, who placed 4th individually with a score of 89 (+17). Tjerdan Johnson would tie for 7th with a score of 96 (+24), while Michael Carlson and Tyler Schachtner would tie for 13th with scores of 99 (+27) to round out the varsity lineup.
Roland-Story would place 6th with a team score of 385, with their best scorer in senior Ben Greenfield, who shot a 94 (+22), which put him in a tie for 5th. Braylen Loots would shoot a 96 (+24), which put him in a tie for 7th, while Patrick Gomez and Hayden Eslick rounded out the varsity lineup for the Norsemen, with Gomez shooting a 97 (+25) and placing 10th, as Hayden Eslick shot a 98 (+26) and placed 11th.
PCM was the team champion with a score of 341.
