South Hamilton hosts Co-Ed Track Meet

The South Hamilton Hawks track team took to the home oval once again on Thursday night, as they competed in their annual South Hamilton Co-Ed Relays. The Hawks were joined by BCLUW, Collins-Maxwell, Colo-NESCO, Madrid and West Marshall.

South Hamilton would pick up numerous winners on Thursday night, beginning with girls sprint medley, winning in a time of 1:58.30. That was soon followed up by a win in the boys distance medley in a time of 3:51.71, a new season-best for the Hawks by 7 seconds. South Hamilton’s girls would then pick up quick wins in the 400-meter dash, with Ashlyn Erickson winning in a mark of 1:03.37, and the 4×200-meter relay, winning in a time of 1:53.95.

The night would end in a clean sweep of the 4×400-meter relay by the Hawks, as the South Hamilton girls won the 4×400 in a time of 4:27.12, shaving more the 7 seconds off their previous season-best. The Hawk boys followed that up with a convincing win in their 4×400, winning in a time of 3:36.79.

South Hamilton’s girls would win their meet with a total of 146.5 points, while the South Hamilton boys would tie for 4th with 98 points, along with Collins-Maxwell. Madrid boys would win the meet with 172 points.

Next action for the South Hamilton track teams will be Tuesday night at the Cardinal Relays in Earlham.
