The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Community School District Board of Education has named Aaron Patrick as the district’s next middle school principal.
Superintendent Joe Nelson issued a statement about Mr. Patrick’s hire, saying, “We are excited to name Mr. Aaron Patrick as the next Principal at CGD Middle School. His Principal experience at Pinecrest in Mason City will serve him well in his new position at Clarion-Goldfield-Dows and benefit our entire district. CGD Middle School is a great place for learners thanks to our amazing teachers, caring families, and supportive communities. We look forward to Mr. Patrick continuing this excellence and adding to the strong traditions established by Mr. Haberman and his Middle School staff.”
As the current principal of the Pinecrest Center in the Mason City Community School District, Patrick has monitored and evaluated educational programs to maintain high-quality performance objectives and standards. In addition, he has introduced modifications to curriculum and new, effective instructional techniques.
Patrick holds a master’s degree in leadership in educational administration from Capella University and has previously served as a K-12 physical education teacher in the Paton-Churdan Community School District.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the CGD community as the next middle school principal,” said Patrick. “I look forward to helping fulfill the district’s mission of Preparing Students Today For Tomorrow!”
Board members worked with Grundmeyer Leader Services to conduct the search. Patrick interviewed with the board and stakeholder interview groups consisting of students, parents, teachers, and community members on February 24.
Patrick will be transitioning with long time Principal, Steve Haberman between now and officially starting on July 1, 2023.
