One person injured in SUV-semi accident Tuesday night near Williams.

Details on an accident between an SUV and a semi near Williams on Interstate 35 shortly before midnight Tuesday night were released today by the Iowa State Patrol. The accident happened at the 145 northbound mile marker of the highway. Reportedly a northbound 2015 Kenworthy semi tractor trailer operated by Brian Nordby of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin was attempting to change lanes when his rig accidentally struck the left rear side of a northbound 2002 Cadillac Escalade SUV driven by Albert Grady,Jr of Coulter in the right hand lane. The Grady SUV came to rest on its passenger side facing east blocking both northbound lanes for a time. The Nordby semi continued past a bridge going through the cable barrier entering the east ditch and rolled onto its passenger side facing north. Grady was taken to Van Diest Medical Center in Webster City by the hospital EMS department for treatment of possible injuries. Both the Nordby semi and the Grady SUV were totaled as a result of the Tuesday night crash near Williams. Damage to the cable barrier on the interstate was estimated at $2000. Investigating state trooper Dennis Schnathorst charged Brian Nordby with Failure to Maintain Control.
