Juvenile faces Terrorism charge of Webster City Schools.

Webster City Police were notified on Tuesday of an incident involving possible threats of violence made toward the Webster City School District. Webster City Police chief Shiloh Mork reported that a juvenile student had made comments and attempted to recruit at least one other juvenile to engage in an act of violence at one of the school buildings today (Wednesday). There is no school in Webster City today due to a staff in service day. After numerous interviews, a search warrant was executed at the juvenile’s residence in Webster City. Chief Mork said that as a result of the investigation a 14-year-old juvenile was referred to juvenile court on the delinquent act of a threat of terrorism, a class D felony. The juvenile was transferred to the Juvenile Detention Center in Eldora.
The Webster City Police Department takes all threats of violence seriously. In today’s society any report of a threat is considered credible until proven otherwise. Chief Mork stressed that if you see or hear something, say something whether it is thought to be credible or not. The name of the juvenile is not being released due to the age of the individual. Webster City Police were assisted in the investigation by the Webster City Community School District, the Hamilton County Attorney’s Office and the Juvenile Court Office for the Second Judicial District in Iowa.
