South Hamilton competes at Doug Wood Invitational in Manson

The South Hamilton wrestling team made the trip north and west to Manson on Saturday to compete in the Doug Wood Invitational at Manson-Northwest Webster High School. The Hawks were joined by the host Cougars, as well as Alta-Aurelia, East Sac County, (1A) #8 Ogden, Ridge View, St. Edmond, South Central Calhoun, West Bend-Mallard and Woodbury Central.

South Hamilton did crown a champion at the tournament in Graham Peters at 182 lbs. Peters picked up falls over Alta-Aurelia’s Ridge Cargin, Ridge View’s Braden Johnson and Manson-Northwest Webster’s Cooper Harman en route to the title, as his pin over Harman in the title match came in 18 seconds. Brother Adley Peters placed 2nd at 285 lbs, falling in the final against Woodbury Central’s Ashton Libke via fall.

Keyton Remsburg was also a runner up at 145 lbs, picking up tech fall wins over East Sac County’s Hutton Pasche (15-0) and Alta-Aurelia’s Isaiah Powers (19-4) before losing a 13-9 decision to South Central Calhoun’s Brock Nattress in the finals. Braden Young would place 4th at 138 lbs, Earnie Taylor would place 3rd at 220 lbs, while Holden Klein placed 6th at 120 lbs.

South Hamilton returns to action on Thursday, when they wrestle in a quad-dual featuring Roland-Story, Saydel and Colfax-Mingo.
