The Hamilton County Conservation Board Tuesday morning accepted a quote from Peterson Construction of Webster City for the pump house project at Briggs Woods Golf Course. The quote was for $167,700. The quote will be submitted to the Hamilton County Supervisors for their review and approval. The Hamilton County Conservation Board will be joining the conservation departments of Boone and Webster Counties to submit an Iowa Great Places application for the Iowa DNR River Trails program to put in new signage for the canoe access areas in all three counties. The awarding will be announced in the next few months.
All county parks are now closed for the season but the campsites remain open until the first significant snowfall takes place. The cost to use electricity will be at 12 dollars per campsite. The water is shut off to the sites.
Conservation director Brian Lammers said last month’s Halloween Hikes at Briggs Woods and Little Wall Lake Parks drew an excellent turnout. The Briggs Woods Golf Course is close for the season. At next month’s board meeting there will be a review of the past season at the golfing facility.
The next scheduled meeting of the Hamilton County Conservation Board will be Thursday,December 22 at 9:30 a.m. at the Briggs Woods conservation office south of Webster City.
