A one car accident on Interstate 35 three miles northeast of Ellsworth at the 136 mile marker was investigated by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department at around 12:20 last Saturday morning. Reportedly a 2012 Ford Focus operated by Dakota Brady of Osceola became disabled after hitting an unknown object on the highway. Investigating deputy Ethan Krieger estimated the damage to the Brady car at $10,000. There were no injuries reported.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department investigated an SUV accident at 12:30 this morning approximately four miles east of Ellsworth on Highway 175. The accident report stated that a westbound 2014 Cadillac SRX operated by Lindsey Dietz of Ellsworth entered the north ditch after she apprently passed out while driving. The SUV then passed three power poles and then hit a driveway when the SUV rolled onto the passenger side,flipper over the driveway and came to rest on the north ditch. The Dietz SUV had its headlights and wipers on when authorities arrived with the driver leaving the scene without notifying law enforcement. Investigating deputy Ryan Rupiper said that while he inspected the damage to the SUV, he detected a strong odor of an alcholic beverage. An opened alcoholic beverage can was found on the passenger side floor. North Story Towing towed the SUV away from the scene. Severe damage was done to the SUV.
