The Webster City Lynx cross country teams made the trip north and west on Wednesday night to compete in their Class 3A State Qualifying Meet at Joe Sheldon County Park in Humboldt. The Lynx were joined by the host Wildcats, Algona, Bishop Heelan, Boone, Gilbert, LeMars, MOC-Floyd Valley, North Polk, Sioux Center, Spencer and Storm Lake.
For the boys, the Lynx placed 11th as a team with 299 points. The top placer was senior Brayden Henely, who placed 38th in 18:48.90, while junior Aiden Rahe placed 40th in 18:55.52. Jack Barner would place 74th, Kyzer Zinnel would place 77th, Owen Patterson finished 78th, Tristen Maxwell placed 85th, and Gabe Rollins rounded out the lineup at 86th.
On the girls side, the Lynx were not able to compete as a full team, but senior Emma Peck placed 53rd in a time of 23:23.27. Natalie Eggers placed 78th in 30:52.63, while Caroline Ehn placed 79th.
