Stanhope honors long time council member Hove with the renaming of the community center.

There is a new name for the Stanhope Community Center. Last week, the Stanhope city council voted to rename the center of Harold Hove. Hove has been a long time city council member.The council renamed the center to honor him and his family for the dedication to the Stanhope community through the years. The Stanhope city council also approved the memorandum of understanding between the city of Stanhope and the Stanhope Development Group for the relocation of the Stanhope Depot. The depot is located at the former Country Relics facility north of Stanhope. The move from Country Relics to Stanhope will be taking place next summer in time fo the community’s Watermelon Day celebration. An EMS affiliation agreement between Stanhope and with Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames was approved. The purchase of new pages for the Stanhope EMS department was approved. A snowmobile route through Stanhope was approved with the same provisions as last year.
