The Eagle Grove Eagles volleyball team hosted their regular season finale on Thursday night, as they welcomed in the Rockets of Paton-Churdan to Eagle Grove Elementary School. The Rockets entered with a record of 1-18 and 0-8 in the Rolling Valley Conference, while the Eagles entered with a 1-16 record and 1-7 record in the Top of Iowa West.
Eagle Grove would hold control of the match throughout of the 2nd year in a row, as the Eagles won a decisive set 1 by a score of 25-17. Paton-Churdan would claw closer in the next two sets, but not enough to overcome the Eagles, as Eagle Grove won by sets of 25-17, 25-19 and 25-20.
Sophomore Tarissa Middleton led the way with 6 kills for the Eagles, while Braxton Steil and Maddison Kaiser each had 5 kills. Kaiser also had the team-lead in assists with 11, and a team-high 5 aces, while Suzi Kaiser recorded 5 blocks for Eagle Grove.
The Eagles open up Class 3A, Region 4 action on Monday, when they travel to La Porte City to take on Union Community at 7 PM
