Clarion-Goldfield-Dows volleyball dominates Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, 3-0

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowgirls volleyball team held their home, regular season-finale on Tuesday night, as they welcomed in the Cardinals of Garner-Hayfield-Ventura in non-conference action, at CGD High School in Clarion. The Cowgirls entered with a 21-3 record, while GHV entered at 10-15.

Tuesday’s match would serve as a preview to a Class 3A, Region 4 opener between the 2 teams next Monday, as CGD jumped all over GHV out of the gates, winning the first set 25-10. The Cardinals would capitalize off of CGD mistakes in the 2nd set to remain competitive late, but it was the Cowgirls who managed to take the set 25-21. The 3rd and final set looked more like the opening set, with Cowgirls completing the sweep by 25-16 margin.

Lexie Lane led the way for all hitters in the match, tallying 16 kills and 4 aces in her final regular season game at home, fellow senior Clarissa Hasty had 9 kills.
