The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows volleyball team returned to North Central Conference action on Tuesday night, as they hosted the Cadets of Iowa Falls-Alden at CGD High School in Clarion. The Cadets entered with a record of 8-17 and 1-3 record in the conference, while the Cowgirls entered with a 19-3 record and an unblemished 4-0 conference record.
The match would be a domination from the Cowgirls from the get out, with CGD taking the opening set by a final of 25-8. The next two sets would be more of the same, as while the Cadets managed to narrow the margins in the set, the Cowgirls won set 2, 25-11 and set 3, 25-13 to earn a dominating sweep of the Cadets.
Lexie Lane once again led the way with 10 kills for the Cowgirls, giving her 254 on the season, which is tied for 3rd in Class 3A. Ady Askelsen finished with 7 kills and 8 assists, while Karlee Lehman had a team-high 13 assists. Kennedy Trca led the team in blocks with 3, while Indy Johnson had a great night serving the volleyball with 5 aces.
Next action for CGD will be next Thursday, October 6th, as the Cowgirls face off with the Algona Bulldogs at Clarion-Goldfield-Dows High School at 7:30.
