Primary election day is this Tuesday,June 7. Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.. The contested races this Tuesday will be the race for U.S. Senator. Three Democrats are vying for their party’s nomination. They are Abby Finkenauer, Michael Franken and Glenn Hurst. The Republican candidate names on the ballot will be incumbent Chuck Grassley and his challenger Jim Carlin. Two Democrats are vying for their party’s vote for Iowa Secretary of State.They are Joel Miller annd Eric Van Lancker. The winner in Tuesday’s race will challenge Republican incumbent Paul Pate this November. Two Republicans are competing in the election for State Auditor. The candidates are Todd Halbur and Mary Ann Hanusa. The winner will challenge Democratic incumbent Rob Sand later this year. All other races are uncontested for some state and county offices.
Here are the polling places for Tuesday’s primary
All three Webster City precinicts and for portions of Cass and Freedom townships will vote at the Ed Prince Building on the Hamilton County Fairgrounds.
Voters from the city of Kamrar and for Cass, Freedom, Fremont and Independence townships, you will be voting at the activity room at Trinity Lutheran Church at 1229 Kathy Lane in Webster City.
Voters in the cities of Stanhope and Stratford and from Clear Lake, Hamilton, Marion and Webster townships will vote at the Stanhope Commuity Center.
The voters from the towns of Blairsburg and Williams and from Blairsburg, Liberty,Rose Grove and Williams townships will cast ballots at the Missionary Alliance (MAC Life) Church in Blairsburg.
Voters in Ellsworth, Jewell and Randall and in the townships of Ellsworth,Lincoln,Lyon and Scott will vote at the Bethesda Lutheran Church in Jewell.
