Eagle Grove baseball falls to Lake Mills, 3-2

The Eagle Grove Eagles baseball team made the trek north into Winnebago County, to face off with the Bulldogs of Lake Mills in Top of Iowa West action on Wednesday night. The Bulldogs entered with a record of 0-3 and 0-2 in conference play, while Eagle Grove entered at 3-2 with a 2-0 record in conference play.

Lake Mills were the ones to do damage early on, as the Bulldogs plated a run each in the 2nd inning and in the 3rd inning to hold a 2-0 lead. Another run in the 6th made it 3-0 Bulldogs headed into the final frame. Eagle Grove would not go down without a fight, as a Syrus Willard run, and a Jake Jeske RBI that scored Mack Morgan brought the score to 3-2 before Lake Mills would slam the door shut on Eagle Grove for a 3-2 victory.

Eagle Grove returns to action on Thursday night, as they travel to Algona to take on the Algona Bulldogs at Algona High School, with first pitch at 7:30 on 95.7 KQWC.
