The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowgirls softball team hit the home diamond for the 3rd night in a row as they welcomed in a North Central Conference foe in the Humboldt Wildcats. The Wildcats entered with a 2-0 record on the season, while the Cowgirls entered at 1-3 and 0-1 in conference play.
The Wildcats hopped on the scoring train early, getting 2 runs across in the 1st and 3 runs across in the 2nd to hold a 5-0 lead. CGD would get on the board with a run in the bottom of the 2nd to make it 5-1, before the wheels would come off in the 3rd. 9 Humboldt runs in the frame set the score at 14-1, before the Cowgirls would plate 3 runs across in the bottom of the 3rd to make it 14-4. The Cowgirls return to action on Thursday night, as they host the Warhawks of West Fork, Sheffield at Clarion-Goldfield-Dows High School, with first pitch at 7:30 PM.
