The Roland-Story Norse softball team hosted home softball action for the second night in a row as the Norse took on a Heart of Iowa Conference foe in the Perry Jayettes on Wednesday night. Perry entered with a 1-0 record, with the lone win over West Marshall, while Roland-Story entered 1-3 and 1-1 in the conference.
Roland-Story was able to scratch a pair of runs across in the 1st off an error following a Macy Friest fly out to give the Norse a 2-0 lead after 1. Perry would strike back in the 3rd with Kassidy Atwell scoring off a wild pitch to make it a 1-run game, which the Jayettes followed up with another run off a Macy Kilmer RBI groundout to tie the game at 2-2. The Norse would answer in the bottom of the 3rd with a Lydia Oetker RBI double that scored Kennedy Petersen to give the Norse a 3-2 lead. Roland-Story scratched another run across on a wild pitch in the 5th, before the Norse plated 6 runs in the 6th courtesy of 3 Perry errors to take a 9-2 lead, which would be the winning margin.
Roland-Story returns to action on Thursday, as they travel to Jefferson to take on the Greene County Rams at 7:30 PM.
