The Roland-Story Norsemen baseball team returned to action on Tuesday night, as they welcomed in the Mustangs of PCM in Heart of Iowa Conference action. PCM entered with a record of 2-2, while Roland-Story entered with a record of 3-3.
Roland-Story got the scoring started early with a run in the bottom of the 1st to take a 1-0 lead. That lead would be short-lived as PCM plated 3 runs in the top of the 2nd to take as 3-1 lead in Story City. Mustangs would maintain that lead until the Norsemen bats came alive in the 4th, plating 5 runs in the bottom of the 4th to take a 6-3 lead. Two more runs in the bottom of the 5th gave Roland-Story an 8-3 lead and the 8-3 win. RBI hits came courtesy of Brett Schmitz (9), Jackson Anthony (6), Thomas Matthes (5), and Hesston Johnson (3). Thomas Matthes picked up the win, pitching 4 1/3 innings of 4-hit ball with 7 strikeouts.
Roland-Story returns to action on Wednesday night, as they host the Perry Bluejays in Heart of Iowa Conference action at 7:30 PM in Story City.
