The Webster City Lynx baseball team took to the road on Friday night, as they traveled west to open up North Central Conference play as they faced off with their long-time rivals in the Humboldt Wildcats at Humboldt High School. The Lynx entered 3-3 on the season, while Humboldt was playing their first game due to rainouts earlier in the week.
As they have all season, the Webster City bats attacked early and often, as a Keegan Hisler two-run RBI single and RBI from Zach Dyvig and Matthew Tesdahl opened up a 4-0 Lynx lead after the top of the 1st. However, it wouldn’t be until the 4th when Webster City struck again, off a CJ Hisler 2-run RBI Double to take a 6-0 lead. Zach Dyvig was sensational on the mound for Webster City, not allowing a hit until the 5th as he pitched a complete game, 2-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts to give Webster City a 6-0 win.
The Lynx moved to 4-3 on the season with a win, and will host Storm Lake at home on Monday night at 7:30 PM.
