The Webster City Lynx boys golf team made the short drive to Ames on Monday and Tuesday, to compete in the Class 3A State Golf Meet at Veenker Memorial Golf Course on the campus of Iowa State University. Other qualifiers included ADM, Gilbert, Knoxville, MOC-Floyd Valley, Newton, Pella, Solon, Spencer and Washington.
The top overall golfer for the Lynx in the 3A Tournament was senior Beau Klaver, who shot a +17 on day 2, to tally a total score of +33, which tied him for 29th. Sophomore Braden Doering would follow closely, placing in a tie for 32nd, shooting a +17 on day 2 and a +34 overall. Drew Schwering would finish tied for 41st, shooting a +16 on Tuesday and a +38 for the tournament, while Devon Stoakes and Garrett Arnold would tie for 44th with scores of +39 each, Stoakes shot a +23 on Tuesday and Arnold shot a +17. Cael Nixon rounded out the Webster City lineup by placing in a tie for 49th, shooting a +40 for the tournament and a +20 on Tuesday.
Webster City would placed 9th as a team with a score of +165, as Gilbert defended their Class 3A title, winning with a score of +57.
