Eagle Grove baseball shuts out Forest City, 11-0

The Eagle Grove Eagles baseball team made the trip north on Monday night, to face off with the Forest City Indians at Forest City High School in both teams Top of Iowa West conference-opener. Both Eagle Grove and Forest City entered Monday night with 1-1 records.

Jake Jeske got the start on the mound for the Eagles, and for his second outing in a row, absolutely overwhelmed the opposition, as Jeske pitched a complete game, 3-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts and did not walk a batter in the game. Jeske also went 3-for-4 at the plate, driving in 4 runs on the night as well, as the Eagles blew the game open in the 3rd with a 5-run inning, before a 2-run 4th and a 4-run 6th put the game on ice with an 11-0 shutout.

Eagle Grove saw RBI contributions from Mack Morgan, Blake Morgan, Cayden Schultz, Jordan Morris and Chris Williams on the night as the Eagles open conference play 1-0. The Eagles return to action on Tuesday night, as they travel to Clarion to take on Clarion-Goldfield-Dows at 7:30 PM.
