Memorial Day services announced for Webster City on May 30.

Webster City American Legion Post 191 has anounced the list of events for Memorial Day on Monday,May 30. The day will begin with the Legion members who are on the firing squad  need to be at the American Legion Hall at 7:30 a.m.  Legion members and Auxiliary assembe at the Legion Hall for transportation services. Transportation will be provided. The first service of the day will be at 8:15 a.m. at the Marshall Crippen bridge on North Des Moines Street. The ceremony will be conducted by the Post 191 Auxiliary.  The American Legion Post 191 will conduct the service at the Cass Center Cemetery north of Webster City at 8:45 a.m. The Memorial Day parade will form at 9:45 a.m. in the 700 block of Second Street north alley or at the Middle School parking lot. The location will be determined. The Memorial Day parade will proceed south on Des Moines Street to the Boulevard of Valor where there will be a presentation of roses  at the markers.There will be a recognition of active duty military personnel  by the Auxiliary. The parade will then continue to the entrance of Graceland Cemtery and the Memorial Stage. The service at Graceland Cemetery  will be conducted by Webster City Legion Commander Rich Stroner. This year’s featured speaker will be Pat Farley. In the event of inclement weather, the service will be cancelled.
