The Webster City Lynx girls tennis team made the trip south on Highway 17 on Saturday, to face off with the Ballard Bombers in Class 1A, Region 1 action at McHose Park in Boone. Webster City entered at 8-2, while Ballard entered at 3-3.
In a singles-only matchup, the Bombers stormed out of the gate with a pair of sweeps, as Joslin Gourley fell to Regen Halsne by scores of 6-2 and 6-0, and Mackenzie Burney fell to Kaitlyn Zugay by scores of 6-2 and 6-1. Kayley Wibholm would pick up a win in position 3 for the Lynx in a 2-0 decision, but the Ballard lineup would be too much for the Lynx, as the Bombers picked up 2-0 decisions from the final 3 members of their lineup to seal at 5-1 win over Webster City.
