The Webster City Lynx girls soccer team made the short trip east on Highway 20 on Thursday night, to take on Iowa Falls-Alden in both team’s season finale. The Lynx entered with a 4-11 record, while the Cadets entered at 13-2.
The first half was a stalemate between the two squads, with Webster City holding their own against the top dogs in the North Central Conference in 2022, however things changed quickly in the second half. Iowa Falls-Alden put 6 goals on the board in the half to run away with a 6-0 victory. Junior Abigail ites and Adessa Gillespie had two goals each, while seniors Magdalena Aamelfot and Ebba Robling contributed goals as well.
The Lynx and Cadets will face off with one another again next Friday at Iowa Falls, for the Class 2A, Region 6 first-round matchup, kicking off at 6 PM.
