The Webster City Lynx boys soccer team took to the pitch on Thursday night, to face off with North Central Conference foe Iowa Falls-Alden in both teams regular season finale. The Lynx entered with an 8-5 record and on a 5-game winning streak, while Iowa Falls-Alden entered with a record of 7-7.
It was another banner day for star Webster City sophomore Eduardo Perez, as the Lynx second-leading scorer put together a hat trick on the evening. Senior Samuel Moberly added another a goal as well as to give Webster City a 4-0 win.
The win was Webster City’s 6th in a row as the head into the postseason, with the key to success being defense, as the Lynx have only allowed 1 goal in the previous 6 games.
Webster City opens up postseason play against Spirit Lake in their Class 2A, First Round regional at Siebens Fieldhouse on the campus of Buena Vista University in Storm Lake next Thursday at 5 PM.
