The Webster City Lynx boys golf team made the trek north and west on Wednesday, to compete in their Class 3A Sectional Tournament at Landsmeer Golf Club in Orange City. The Lynx were joined by Spencer, Algona, Sioux Center, Humboldt, MOC-Floyd Valley, Storm Lake and Estherville-Lincoln Central.
The individual champion in Orange City was MOC-Floyd Valley’s Davis Korver, who shot an 18-hole score of 74 (+2). Webster City’s top finishers were seniors Garrett Arnold and Beau Klaver, with each shooting 78’s (+6). Devon Stoakes placed 10th with a score of 80 (+8), while Drew Schwering shot an 82 (+10). Cael Nixon and Braden Doering rounded out the Webster City lineup with scores of 85 (+13) and 87 (+15), respectively.
Webster City would place third with a score of 318, Spencer would place 2nd with a score of 312, as MOC-Floyd Valley was the meet champions with a score of 304. Webster City advances to compete in the district round in Class 3A at Spencer on Monday.
