The South Hamilton Hawks and Roland-Story Norsemen boys golf team entered postseason action on Wednesday, as they competed in their sectional tournament at Jewell Golf and Country Club or the north side of Jewell. The two squads were joined by ACGC, Colo-NESCO/Collins-Maxwell, Southeast Valley, Carroll Kuemper, Ogden and Panorama.
It was a stellar day for the South Hamilton, as freshman Landon Sogard finished with a 78 (+6). Senior Gavin Swenson would follow up with an 86 (+14), with Connor Deppe and Ashton DeWitt shooting an 88 and 90 respectively. Tjerdan Johnson and Gatlin Johnson rounded out the Hawks lineup with scores of 93 and 94, respectively. Carroll Kuemper’s Maverick Schwabe and Panorama’s Brice Taylor finished tied for the individual title with a score of 76 (+4).
South Hamilton placed 2nd with a score of 342, while Carroll Kuemper was the team sectional champions with a score of 330. Roland-Story also competed, and finished 8th with a team score of 400. South Hamilton advances to compete in the district tournament that will be held at Carroll Country Club on Monday.
