The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys and Webster City Lynx boys golf teams made the trip west on Monday morning, to compete in the North Central Conference Tournament at Fort Dodge Country Club. The two were joined by conference foes Humboldt, Iowa Falls-Alden, Clear Lake, Hampton-Dumont-CAL, St. Edmond and Algona.
Clarion-Goldfield-Dows senior Jacob Moore was the individual conference champion, shooting a 78 (+6), as the only golfer in the tournament to shoot under an 80. Teammate Cale Kirstein shot an 81 (+9) on the day.
As for Webster City, the Lynx saw their four top golfers all shoot 85 (+13) on the day, which tied them with HD-CAL’s Tommy Birdsell and Ruben Salinas for 4th place all together. The four Lynx who shot 85’s were Beau Klaver, Devon Stoakes, Garrett Arnold and Drew Schwering.
Clear Lake was the conference champions with a score of 337, while CGD tied with Humboldt for 2nd with a score of 338. Webster City finished 4th with a score of 340.
