The next Webster City Community School Board meeting is this Monday evening, May 9 at 6:00 p.m. at their office at 820 Des Moines Street. The board will recognize the Hamilton High students, the cast of the recent production of “Schoolhouse Rock Live” by Greta Nelson, food service presentation by Lori Hartnett and the computer science team with Jama Hisler. There will be a look at bread and milk bids and pricing for school lunches for the 2022-23 school year. The board will look at retention pay for staff excluded from the governor’s retention bonus, set the date of May 23 for a public hearing to amend the school budget for the 2021-22 school year,approve debt service payments for projects at Pleasant View, Sunset Heights and Webster City high school.
In other matters at Monday’s board session,there will be the approval of the School Administrators of Iowa Mentoring and Induction Program for Pleasant View principal Karen Tungesvik.approve an agreement with YSS, approve a monetary gift from the Webster City Sports Boosters, approve a copier agreement with Access Systems,approve a teacher education clinical experience placements with Morningside University of Sioux City and approve a fund raising request for the Webster City high school cheerleading team to sell pawprints and driveway stencils.
In personnel matters, the Webster City school board will accept the resignations from high school social studies teacher Amanda Ross, high school art instructor Madlyn Vorrie, third grade teacher Molly Ferrell , high school paraeducator Holly Fisher and seventh grade football coach Evan Mossman. The board will approve the hirings of athletic/activities director Jess Howard, third grade teacher Ellie Baker, auditorium tech director Stephanie Pace and the transfer of Rafferty Naughton from fifth grade to seventh grade teacher. There will also be updates by superintendent Dr. Mandy Ross and from the board.
