South Hamilton boys golf hosts home meet

The South Hamilton Hawks boys golf team hosted their home invitational on Thursday afternoon, at Jewell Golf and Country Club in Jewell. The Hawks were joined by fellow Heart of Iowa Conference schools Roland-Story and Greene County, as well as Carroll Kuemper and Ogden.

South Hamilton saw freshman Landon Sogard take home 4th place, shooting an 82 (+9). Gatling Johnson and Tjerdan Johnson would finish tied for 6th, with each shooting an 89 (+17) on the day. Roland-Story saw their leader come from Braylen Loots, who shot a 92 (+20). South Hamilton senior Gavin Swenson would shoot a 93 (+21), with Roland-Story freshman Patrick Gomez shooting a 98 (+26). Ashton DeWitt and Connor Deppe rounded out the South Hamilton lineup by shooting 101 each, while Jay Sanderson, Drew Stalzer and Nels Hanson rounded out Roland-Story’s lineup shooting 110, 121 and 127, respectively.

Carroll Kuemper took home the team title with a low-score of 337. South Hamilton placed 3rd with a score of 353, while Roland-Story placed 5th with a score of 421.
