Webster City boys golf dominates Humboldt triangular, seals NCC dual title

The Webster City Lynx boys golf team made the trip north on Tuesday to familiar territory, as they competed in a triangular at Humboldt Country Club in Humboldt. The Lynx were joined by the host Humboldt Wildcats and Fort Dodge, St. Edmond.

The Lynx, yet to lose a meet or tournament this season, kept their record unblemished with another dominating performance at the Humboldt Country Club. Senior Devon Stoakes turned in his best performance of the season to capture the individual title with a score of 38 (+2), fellow senior Beau Klaver shared 2nd with St. Edmond’s Caleb Schaefer and teammate Cael Nixon, who all shot 39’s (+3). Sophomore Braden Doering would finish in a 4-way tie for 5th, shooting a 41 (+5), while Garrett Arnold and Drew Schwering tied for 9th with a score of 42 (+6).

Webster City would win the meet with a score of 157, while Humboldt finished 2nd with a score of 165. St. Edmond finished 3rd with a team score of 195. The Lynx will return to action on Thursday, as they host their annual Briggs Woods Invite at Briggs Woods Golf Course in Webster City.
